John's Long Johns
For General Conference weekend, we visited my parents in Salt Lake. One of their neighbors has 3 boys, so as they've been outgrowing clothes and toys, they've been handing them down to us. Among the bags of clothing were these adorable long johns. I though my baby John was just adorable in them.
How can you not love that face. I could just squish him all day
John loved my parents dogs. He would just sit and giggle at Penny (the chihuahua). She's not very patient with babies, so we had to be careful with the two of them, but he just thought she was the funniest thing.
While we were watching conference, John played and read books.
This one is called Baby Animals. It was my book when I was tiny.
Dakota (our mutt) was a lot more patient when John would paw at him. He'd just sit there and let John grab his ears and face.
I wonder if John will beg us for a dog when he gets older.
It was so fun to be with family for the weekend. The time went by way too fast. We miss you Nana and Granpa Bill!

Air Show
There were tons of cool planes
Mmmm. Smells like diesel
We watched little planes do stunt flying and a paraglider harassed the pilots and there were some parachuters.
The parachuters we kinda boring and they kept jumping directing in front of the sun so you couldn't really see them anyways
John slept through the boring parachuters
Robby and I took pictures to pass the time til the Blue Angels show
Yes, we're dorks
It was wicked hot outside and there was no shade so we did our best to create our own shade.
This chopper was gianormous!
The Blue Angels were amazing! They flew so close to each other and in such crazy formations. I don't know how they didn't crash
John was amazed too.
Actually he did really well. He got a little fussy 15 minutes into the Blue Angels demonstration, but he was fine as soon as I got him out of his car seat and held him. We stood in the shade of the chopper blade so John's tender skin wouldn't get hurt. He loved watching everything.
Please ignore the double chin. Up shots are never flattering.
It was such a fun day. Thanks for the awesome date Robby!

4th of July
We chilled at home
Then we headed out to watch fireworks
The fireworks were set of behind the college and since we live 5 minutes from the college we were able to walk there
Unfortunately, there were tons of smokers on campus, so we went to the other side of campus and found a place without the crowds
I was afraid of how John would handle the fireworks, but he loved them. I just stared at them mesmerized
Some of the really bright or loud ones scared him, but he still loved them.
10 minutes into the fireworks display, he fell asleep and slept til we got home.
Happy 4th!

To my Husband and the Father of my Baby
Today was Robby's first Father's Day. As a present John and I gave him a baseball with John's itty-bitty hand print on it. Then I made Robby a dinner of his request: Funeral Potatoes, sauteed veggies, and garlic bread with Death by Chocolate Milkshakes for dessert.
I'm so lucky to be married to Robby. He's the best husband and the best father to John that I could ever imagine.

John's Baby Blessing
On June 3rd, we blessed our sweet little boy in my in-laws' ward in Blackfoot. It was a wonderful weekend spent with family and friends. It was beautiful to see my baby boy surrounded by amazing and worthy priesthood holders and my husband blessed him with a healthy boy and clear mind, faith, hope and charity and a desire to serve a mission and in the temple. I wish I could remember more of the blessing, but really it was more the feeling that accompanied the blessing than the words that touched my heart. I have been blessed to be the mother of one of Heavenly Father's choice children and I only hope I can be good enough to be his mom and raise him in righteousness.
My mom let us use the outfit my younger brother, John, was blessed in. It was fun to see generation 2 of baby Johns be blessed in the same outfit. John 2.0 What do you think?
